Hancock returns

Hancock belts one of four sixes on his way to 107 no against Geelong in 2015.

The True Blues batting ranks will be bolstered in season 2018/19 with the return of attacking opening bat Jake Hancock.

Back in Melbourne following a two-year stint in Tasmania, Hancock is set to return to Toorak Park for the coming season and will provide a key focus at the top of the True Blues batting order.

Jake starred in his first season at Prahran in 2015/16 after being enticed to make the move from former club Carlton by the then club coach Peter Di Venuto.

He featured on his club debut with a scintillating 107 not out in the opening round against Geelong and backed that up in Round 5 with 149 against Monash Tigers.

His 626 runs that season, at a healthy average of 32.95, earned him top spot as the True Blues leading run scorer.

Although 500 Futures League runs for Victoria that season wasn't enough to earn Jake a Victorian contract it did prompt interest from Tasmania and a two-year contract followed.

He made his First Class debut for the Tigers in December 2016 in a Sheffield Shield clash against Queensland. Four more Shield matches followed along with ten Futures League games for Tasmania.

After missing out on a Tasmanian contract for 2018/19 Jake returns to Victoria with the intention to restate his claim for a Victorian cap and we are delighted that he has chosen Prahran as the base from which to launch that campaign.

Welcome back Jake!
