Congratulations to our Men's First Eleven who brought home the club's first flag for 37 years.
In the Grand Final at the Junction Oval Prahran (5/261) defeated Dandenong (8/237) by 24 runs.
Batting first after winning the toss, Nick Blaich (30) and James Billington (19) got the True Blues off to a good start before Blaich fell with the score at 41.
A brilliant 164 run partnership between skipper Jake Hancock (73 no) and Damon Egan (107) put the True Blues in a great position with Will Sutherland (9) and Lachie Bangs (14) puting the finishing touches on what looked like a competitive score.
After losing Brett Forsyth (5) early to a juggled catch in the slips with Sutherland and Hancock combining, Dandenong got off to a steady start through the efforts of Tom Donnell (59) and Josh Slater (36).
However, when both departed in quick succession to catches in the deep by Will Sutherland off James Boyce (4/40), the scoring rate slowed and the True Blues gradually gained the ascendency.
Damon Egan was awarded the John Scholes Medal for Player of the Match for his match-winning ton. Scoring at nearly a run-a-ball Egan's inning featured 12 fours and a six.
