The Kathleen Hempenstall Award is presented annually to the best club woman from the women's playing group.

The award is named in honour of Kath Hempenstall who played 178 First XI matches, 115 for Brunswick Park Ladies Cricket Club and 63 for Prahran.

She took 232 wickets at an average of 17.96 and scored 1,640 runs. Kath was awarded life membership in 2019 in recognition of her great work on and off the field for both clubs.
