It is with great sadness that we bid farewell this week to one of our keenest club supporters, Richard Evans.

Richard was a junior cricket coach at Toorak Prahran CC before he crossed the road to join our club as Team Manager/Assistant Coach of our WJ Dowling Under 16 team. He carried out this role for four years from early to the mid 1990’s. Many players from that era went on to become first eleven representatives.

He then served for a further four years on the club's General Committee.

Richard regularly attended most Prahran first eleven games, in particular those at Toorak Park where he would happily pass the time and offer his insightful comments and observations on the state of the game in the presence of the likes of Colin Hyland, Ian Crawford and David Jukes. He was also a keen follower of our women’s team when that was established in 2014.

Richard hadn’t enjoyed the best of health in recent years and sadly passed away on Monday 29 September.

Rest in peace Richard Evans.
